Suzy Kelly is an experienced business person who applies conservative business principles in her decision-making process. In addition to running a small business here in Chesapeake, Kelly has made significant contributions to the community. She has been actively involved in developing leadership programs including Lead Hampton Roads and Ignite Chesapeake. She is involved in public policy, particularly in her support small business issues and in support of maintaining a strong military.

Kelly's goals when elected to City Council include:

  • Creating initiatives to lower the tax burden on Chesapeake citizens.

  • Building a strong local economy and creating jobs.

  • Developing public safety initiatives that make our schools and city safe, free from gangs, drugs, and violence.

  • Reducing government regulations that make it difficult for businesses to locate and grow in Chesapeake.

  • Applying sound fiscal principles to the budget process.

  • Expanding and maintaining our roads, bridges, and infrastructure for the safety and security of Chesapeake with funding measures that minimize the impact on our citizens.
